The flavor is similar to that of a cucurbit: mild flavor with a touch of herbal flavor and slightly sweet. Aside from its fruit, the mini patty pan leaves and flowers are also edible and highly utilized in gastronomical circles.
Culture
One of the most surprising elements of the mini patty pan is its peculiar shape. The center is much wider than the ends and an undulating circumference are very reminiscent of a flying saucer, which accounts for the attention that it garners (Area 51, Nevada). This fruit is also used as decoration on ornamental wreaths.
Origin
As we know, all baby summer squash have their origins in the Americas, particularly the tropical regions of South America.
